Tachinomi Reiko-no-Gosho

If you talk of baseball in Kobe, most locals will support the beloved Hanshin Tigers or Orix Buffaloes. However, Tachinomi Reiko’s Place (れいこの台所) breaks the trend and is a Hiroshima Carp’s standing bar in the middle of Sannomiya. The walls are decorated with Carp memorabilia and if the Carps are playing live it will most likely be shown on their two TVs.

The friendly staff and local customers are very welcoming and always strike up a good conversation. There is no English menu but at standing bars, like Reiko’s Place, it doesn’t really matter as most drinks and food are cheap. Draught beer here are ¥390 with most other food and drinks around the same price.

If you are by yourself or with a couple of friends, Standing Bar Reiko is a good bar to pop into for a couple of quick cheap drinks.
