The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is the worlds longest suspension bridge. It links Kobe to Awaji Island. JR Maiko Station (Kobe Side) is located at the foot of it. From here you can access the Maiko Marine Promanade, which has an observatory under the bridge.
The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is amazing from any angles. Drive over it. Catch a ferry under it. View it from up close or a far.
One of the best viewing spots is on the Awaji Island side is at the Highway Oasis roadside stop. Here there is a large Ferris wheel, you can buy a variety of Awaji souvenirs or grab a Starbucks and enjoy the view.
