Akashi Park (Akashi Castle Ruins)

Akashi Park is a wide open park just in front of JR Akashi Station. It is listed as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing spots.

All year round you can view the large open grounds and gardens around Gono Pond. The park is also home to sports grounds including a baseball stadium and athletics field. Markets and festivals are held here throughout the year, especially on weekends and public holidays.

The former castle which was built around 400 years ago has been destroyed but two 3-storey towers still remain.

Inside the park you can also find the T.T.T Takeout food and drink cafe. They have a limited menu you can order from and are open as a beer garden during the Summer / Autumn months.
