Profile
Amarube Railroad Bridge is a viaduct located on the Japan Sea side of Hyogo Prefecture in the small town of Kami. The original steel frame construction was built in 1912 and parts of it still stand as the “Sora-no-Eki” or “Station in the Sky” observation platform. The main railway is now built of reinforced concrete and opened in 2010.
The popular glass elevator, nicknamed the “Amarube Crystal Tower” takes you up to the observation deck where you can see beautiful views of the sea and cliff faces.
The bridge is 40 meters tall and 300 meters long. There is a small park and tourist center nearby.
Unfortunately, when I visited it was raining so I couldn’t enjoy the full views that Amarube Railroad Bridge had to offer.
