Profile
The Bando Kobe Science Museum (バンドー神戸青少年科学館) lets visitors jump into the world of science with hands on exhibits and displays spread across six exhibition rooms. Most exhibits have small English descriptions but plenty are self explanatory and allow children to explore the attractions themselves.
Learn about the science of power and motion, information science, AI, local science history in Kobe, life science and more. Get creative and learn at the same time. There are different events (in Japanese) that happen monthly too.
The Dome Theater Planetarium is the only one in Kobe City (Although down the road, Akashi City has one.) and was renewed in July 2022.
Bando Kobe Science Museum is only ¥600 entry for adults, ¥300 for children. The planetarium is ¥400 and ¥200 entry. No food or drinks are allowed in the exhibition rooms but there is a large food hall where you can enjoy some brought food or a small cafe.
Access the Kobe Science Museum from the Port Liner. Get off at Minami Koen Station (near IKEA) and it’s a three minute walk.
