Profile
Blue Bottle Coffee Kobe (神戸カフェ) is the second Blue Bottle Coffee shop to open in Kansai (the first being in Kyoto).
This Californian coffee roasters have expanded to a few cities around the States and into Japan, with a handful of shops in Tokyo, 1 in Kyoto and now 1 in Kobe (as of Sept. 2018). Blue Bottle is considered a key player in the third wave coffee or specialty coffee movement, bringing freshly roasted coffee to the cup within 48 hours.
Blue Bottle Coffee Kobe is located south of Daimaru with high ceilings and a very modern, concrete and wooden interior. The coffee is defiantly better then Starbucks or similar chains but you also pay a bit more for it. A blended drip or espresso start at ¥450 and go up to ¥700 for a single origin mocha. There are no size options.
Expect a wait for the coffee (between 10~15 minutes when I entered) but once you get your table and your coffee you can relax in the comfortable interior.
