Profile
EKIZO Kobe Sannomiya (EKIZO神戸三宮) is a lively entertainment area in central Kobe.
Since opening in April 2021 it has bought a whole new feel to Sannomiya (central Kobe) and is one of the most lively places in the city to grab a drink and some food.
A variety of restaurants, cafes and bars are nestled under the railway tracks on both the mountain and sea sides. The main road to the mountain side has been made into a pedestrian only area and has plenty of outside tables for patrons to enjoy some fine el fresco dining, something Kobe was lacking in the past. The restaurants on the south side run along the alley between the JR and Hankyu railway tracks and have a more cozy and intimate vibe.
I’m not going to list all the shops EKIZO Kobe Sannomiya has, as I’m sure there will be changes over time. But whether you are looking for Japanese cuisine to try with some sake or a nice glass of wine to have with pasta there is sure to be something to please your taste buds. You can checkout the updated list of places available on the official website.
At the time of writing this I have been to a total of about 8 shops now at EKIZO Kobe Sannomiya and all have had decent service with good quality food. Prices varied with some being expensive and others quite reasonable. Most had English menus.
Don’t forget to checkout the basement floors of the building too as there is the Hankyu Oasis supermarket and food hall. If you are wanting a quite night in, you can buy plenty of pre-cooked takeout food as well as your regular grocery items. There is also a nice wine and craft beer selection.
The Remm Plus Kobe Sannomiya Hotel is located above EKIZO is in a prime location to stay for enjoying a night in Sannomiya.
