Hamasaka Sun Beach 浜坂県民サンビーチ is a picturesque beach located within the San’in Kaigan National Park, a UNESCO Global Geopark.
The beach is known for its clear blue waters (although they can be choppy) of the Sea of Japan and its scenic views. It is surrounded by approximately 5,000 black pine trees that create a rich green landscape, adding to the beach’s natural beauty.
The beach is not just for swimming but also offers a camping experience. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as camping, survival experiences, and of course, swimming. The camping area can accommodate about 200 tents. The camping fee for adults (middle school students and above) is 1,500 yen for one night and two days, and 800 yen for a day trip. For children (elementary school students), the fee is 800 yen for one night and two days, and 400 yen for a day trip.
In addition to the natural attractions, the beach is also equipped with facilities to accommodate visitors with disabilities. There are two locations with toilets for disabled visitors, and guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed on the premises. The beach is also accessible via a slope, making it easier for visitors with mobility issues to navigate.
The parking lot can accommodate about 200 vehicles. Through the peak season (summer) the fee is ¥1500 /day. Off season is free
