The Hyogo Agri Life Center 兵庫楽農生活センター provides agricultural experiences and fun activities for all the family to learn about the importance of food and the local environment. The facility has a farmers market, a bakery and the popular Five Country Cafe.
Throughout the seasons you can experience different agricultural activities such as strawberry picking, rice planting and imohori, sweet potato digging. All farming experiences should be made in advanced (by phone in Japanese).
The farmers market sells seasonal vegetables and fruit, rice and other made in Hyogo goods. There is also a small bakery section.
Five Country Cafe utilises the local seasonal ingredients and serves pizza or pasta lunches. The interior has plenty of light and filled with plants, some of which are also for sale. Along with the main dishes there are a variety of drinks and desserts. It can get rather busy on a weekend with wait times of over 30 minutes.
Five Country Cafe has BBQ plans available, depending on the season, which need to be reserved in advanced.
Hyogo Agri Life Center is located in west Kobe and best accessed by car. Car parking is free. You can catch the Shinki bus from either JR Akashi or Kobe subway Seishin Chuo Station and get off at Oinokuchi bus stop From there it is a 15 minute walk.
