Profile
Mentai Park Kobe Sanda めんたいパーク神戸三田 is a small factory-themed attraction dedicated to mentaiko—spicy cod roe—located just outside central Kobe, near the Kobe-Sanda Interchange. Operated by Kanefuku, one of Japan’s major mentaiko producers, the site offers visitors a look at how mentaiko is made, along with a tasting area, shop, and food court.
The factory line is visible through large glass windows, with simple displays explaining the preparation process from salting to packaging. Entry is free, and it’s easy to walk through in under 30 minutes. Fresh mentaiko samples are usually available, and the food corner serves popular items like mentaiko onigiri and steamed buns.
There’s also a small play area for children, along with a gift shop selling mentaiko products and snacks. Free parking is available, and a shuttle bus runs from JR Sanda and Flower Town stations. It’s a light, family-friendly stop if you’re driving through the area or visiting nearby attractions.
