Profile
Far from your run-of-the-mill zoo, Kobe Animal Kingdom offers unique hands-on animal experiences on Port Island in Kobe. A 14-minute monorail ride from the Sannomiya Port Liner Station, Kobe Animal Kingdom is located right next to K Computer-Mae Station. A one-way adult ticket costs ¥280.
The park is broken up into several zones such as the African Wetland, Tropical Forest and the newest attraction, Rocky Valley, featuring North American creatures great and small. There are several opportunities to interact with them from touching the animals to feeding them. Snacks to start from ¥100 per portion and there are feeding stations around the park.
In addition to animal feeding opportunities, there are free zoo-keeper talks at set times and a free bird show a few times a day. Horse and camel rides are also available for an additional cost.
There are a few eateries and gift shops located inside the main park area and a cafe serving food and drinks outside near the Kangaroo Farm.
Kobe Animal Kingdom is a great day out for the family or anyone who loves animals.
