Profile
Maiko Marine Promenade is a 300m long viewing deck that sits 47m above see level under the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. There are observatory walkways under the bridge offering interesting views of the bridge structure and beautiful scenery of Osaka Bay overlooking Kobe, Akashi & Awaji.
One section of the bridge as a clear glass floor so you can see the ocean below. This wasn’t at all scary for me but a few people I noticed were visibly scared and didn’t want to look down when I was there. You can also find a rest area and Tom’s Cafe here but I thought there would have been more explanations/diagrams about the bridges construction.
Maiko Marine Promenade is located on the Kobe side of the bridge a short walk from JR Maiko Station. Entry is ¥300 on weekends and public holidays and ¥250 on weekdays.
Don’t forget to wander around Maiko Park while you are there and enjoy more views of the bay.
