Profile
The picturesque Port of Kobe is a prime sightseeing spot and event space in Kobe. Visiting this area is a must for anyone coming to the Kansai region.
Kobe Harborland, Meriken Park, the iconic Port Tower, Kawasaki World, Kobe Maritime Museum, hotels, a centrally located Starbucks, the popular BE KOBE sign, grassed areas and glorious views of the bay are the main things you can discover here.
Located within Meriken Park is a small Port of Kobe Memorial dedicated to the 1995 Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake that struck the region. A section of the old port remains to show the damage done during the earthquake.
Regular festivals are held in and around the park, including the yearly fireworks display in early August.
You can take a variety of sightseeing cruises from the port, some which include lunch or dinner courses.
Just off to the side of Meriken Park is UMIE shopping centre and MOSAIC dining mall.
