Mikiyama Forest Park 兵庫県立三木山森林公園 is a nature reserve in Miki city, less than an hour drive from central Kobe.
The wide open park is free to enter and has a picnic ground, BBQ spaces (reservation required), a tea ceremony room, observatory, event hall, cultural house, restaurant, hiking paths, and ponds. There are plenty of open spaces where you can play catch or just relax.
The “Momoji Valley” is full of beautiful maple trees which turn gorgeous shades of orange and red during the autumn.
Mikiyama Forest Park is a great place to escape the city and enjoy some nature. Best accessed by car.
