Minatogawa Shrine is a Shinto shrine located just 3 minutes north of JR Kobe Station. The grounds are peaceful and free to enter.
Minatogawa Shrine is a tranquil place with wide open grounds which contain torii gates, the main hall (Honden), stone lanterns and lion-dog guardians (komainu).
Weddings, Coming of Age and Shichi-Go-San (7-5-3) ceremonies are frequently held here.
During the new year celebrations (January 1st – 3rd), this shrine, along with Ikuta Shrine in Sannomiya are the two most popular in the Kobe area with vendors on the streets and spread through the grounds.
