Nojima Scuola (のじまスコーラ) is a former elementary school which has been converted into a cafe, restaurant & market place.
The first floor has a market selling locally grown Awaji vegetables & various products. There is also a bakery corner selling fresh bread. The casual cafe has a large terrace area and serves Italian style dishes with a small salad & soup buffet.
The second floor restaurant is a bit more formal with 3 different courses (set menu) to choose from at lunch time and 5 courses at dinner. Prices range from ¥1800 to ¥10,000 per head.
The top floor at Nojima Scuola is a BBQ terrace & a kids space.
For the beer lovers they even have their own range of Nojima Scuola produced beers.
Arrive early on weekends and public holidays to avoid the queues and you’ll need to book ahead for the BBQ terrace. Open & closing times vary for each space, check their website for all the latest info.
Access by car or the free shuttle bus from Iwaya Port.
