Profile
Escape the city and experience some beautiful nature, Nunobiki Falls – 布引の滝 – are just a short hike from Shin Kobe station. There are 2 main falls, Mentaki – 雌滝 – (19 meters high) and Ontaki – 雄滝 – (43 meters high).
Access can be a little confusing at the start. Head out from the Shinkansen station area to the bus and taxi rank outside, turn left and turn left again to walk under the station building. It kind of looks like you are walking into a car park but once you come out the other side you will see the Setonaikai National Park (Rokko Area) map.
There is a small shop selling drinks, food and a few souvenirs located near Ontaki. Continue along the path and get to Miharashi Observation Platform – みはらし展望台 – with views of the Kobe city and Osaka bay.
If you push further along the hiking path you will arrive at the oldest concrete gravitational dam in Japan and the very peaceful Nunobiki Reservoir (Nunobiki Gohonmatsu Dam – 布引五本松ダム -).
