Right on the border of Akashi and Kobe cities, Okurakaigan Beach is a wide open space to relax and enjoy the view of Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Awaji Island.
There is a dedicated BBQ area that you need to book in advance. You can either pay a small fee for the space/equipment and bring your own food or you can book a complete course through them.
The sand, well, in some areas feels more like gravel, but still decent enough to through a towel down and sit on. Swimming is permitted with lifeguards on duty during the summer season (July and August).
