Profile
Huge tasty bagels with plenty of sides and a great cozy atmosphere, this is what you can expect at RH Bagels in Tanba-Sasayama.
The old converted Japanese house which is RH Bagels is roughly 600m from the entrance to Sasayama Castle.
The all black exterior has some outside tables in a small porch area. You enter the shop through an old small narrow Japanese doorway that would be no higher than 1.5m.
Inside there are records, jars, a surfboard, plenty of plants/greenery and a fireplace which all create this wonderful cozy atmosphere. It was pretty narrow and you have to take your shoes off, not a big deal but when you are juggling a 1 year old, a stroller and bumping your head on the hanging lights it took a while to get settled.
However, once we were in, relaxed, ordered and our food arrived, RH Bagels delivered the goods. What came to our table was an impressive sight with the taste to match. Huge bagels full of flavor with a great variety of sides. The lunch menu had 4 bagels to choose from, plus a daily special. There was also a pizza and pasta menu. The lunch set was around ¥1700 with soup and a drink.
RH Bagels is well worth the visit if you are in Tanba-Sasayama.
