The Garden Place Soshuen ザ・ガーデンプレイス蘇州園 is a rarity in Japan; a beautiful garden view restaurant with great service and delicious cuisine.
The three-story building was built in 1934 and survived World War 2 and the Great Hanshin earthquake. There are a 4 party spaces plus a bar, terrace and main dining room.
The menu changes seasonally and serves mostly Italian / French cuisine with touches of local specialties such as Kobe beef. Lunch courses start at ¥2000 with dinner from ¥5500.
A short walk from Hankyu Mikage Station, Soshuen is a popular choice as a wedding and party venue so make sure you make a reservation in advance. They have an excellent English website with a contact form for inquiries. Some staff speak English.
