Kobe if s the birthplace of coffee in Japan and the home of one of Japan’s most popular coffee companies, UCC. Established on Port Island in 1987 is the UCC Coffee Museum.
The museum exhibits the 5 processes of coffee; Origin, Cultivation, Classification, Roasting & Extraction. There is a tasting corner, gift shop and through another entrance a coffee shop to relax in.
Most of the exhibits have a basic write-up in English and there is an audio guide available to use on your mobile.
The UCC Coffee Museum is only small and takes less than an hour to wander through the exhibits and try the tasting sample.
Access from the Port Liner and get off at Minami-Koen Station. Entrance is ¥300 for adults.
