Profile
Unitopia Sasayama is a long-standing retreat nestled in the satoyama landscape of Tanba-Sasayama, managed by the Panasonic Group Trade Union Confederation. Established in 1973, the facility spans around 270,000 m²—roughly the size of seven Koshien Stadiums—and offers a peaceful setting for families, groups, school outings, and corporate retreats. Its Lake Plaza lodging features 36 Japanese‑style rooms with scenic views across Lake Yashiro, plus a restaurant, large hall, hot‑spring baths (Komeiseki Onsen), karaoke lounge, and souvenir shop.
In spring 2025, Unitopia Sasayama expanded with the opening of CAMP & VILLAGE, an auto‑camping area offering a range of accommodation styles, including lodges, cabins, and the quirky “ANAKURA” dwellings built partly underground. Each campsite allows car‑side access, and the overall layout blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, ideal for those seeking comfort without sacrificing an outdoor feel.
The facilities at CAMP & VILLAGE make it stand out: spacious auto‑sites (over 100 m²), all equipped with electricity and Wi‑Fi, plus varied surface types—tile‑chip, gravel, and soft grass—for different preferences. Indoor‑equipped options like ANAKURA, air‑conditioned lodges, and “cabin with dog” units ensure comfort even if insects, heat, or cold is a concern. Outdoors, the site is packed with fun—athletics, tree‑houses, dog‑runs, a pool‑sauna and a splash pool (jabu‑jabu pond) open in summer.
Access is remarkably easy—just a seven‑minute drive from Tannan‑Sasayamaguchi IC, yet the site feels enveloped by nature. Note that reservation procedures changed in mid‑2025; as of 1 September, bookings require registering via the “Nap Camp” system (online payment only), and bookings open up three months in advance. CAMP & VILLAGE is a welcome, thoughtfully designed addition to Unitopia Sasayama—offering flexibility, comfort, and plenty for families and groups to enjoy.
