For a truly rewarding experience on your trip to Hyogo, make sure you get some photos of yourself in Japan’s traditional wear; the kimono.
Visit Akashi have started a unique Kimono experience. Learn the history of the kimono from over 1600 years ago until now. After, you will be fitted by a professional kimono fitter. From the inner layer to the outer obi (sash), every detail of this delicate wear will be uniquely arranged on you.
Once in the Kimono you can have photos taken with a Japanese garden as the backdrop or Akashi Castle.
For the Family
In April 2019, my family visited Japan. My sister wanted her children (8 year-old girl and 6 year-old boy) to have some photos in a kimono.
This kimono experience is mainly for woman, however, as you can see in the photos, the team at Visit Akashi are very accommodating and happy for both my niece and nephew to be fitted. (Please give them advanced information).
Due to the rain we couldn’t get photos outside with the cherry blossoms and Akashi Castle but the photos on the tatami and the Japanese garden as the back drop turned out really well.
The explanation, fitting and photos took a little over 2 hours but flew by. The English explanations were great and us adults watching and the children found it a really rewarding experience and something we highly recommend.
