Below you can read about a few more events happening in the beautiful Harborland area of Kobe over the end of July and throughout August.
Kobe Songkran – Thai Water Festival
When: Songkran Eve – Saturday July 27th from 6pm.
Water Festival – Sunday July 28th between 1pm and 2.30pm.
Where: Takahama Quay (in front of Mosaic)
Songkran, the traditional Thai New Years Day in April, is known for its water festival where the streets are closed and the young and old participate in water fights.
On the 27th from 6pm there will be a special live performances and mini bar selling Thai food. on the 28th from 1pm – 2.30pm you will be able to participate in the water festival, remember to bring a towel and change of clothes!
Harborland Bon Odori Festival 2019
When: Sunday 11th August 2019
Time: Food stalls from 4pm. Dance from 6pm – 9pm.
Where: Kobe Hanneko Square (Behind the old red brick warehouse)
Come and dance to the original music of Harborland at the 3rd Harborland Bon Odori festival. With kids favourite Anpanman songs and more this is a great evening with the family.
UMIE Splash Fantasia Mirage 2019
When: August 10th – August 21st 2019
Times: 19:10~, 20:00~, 20:50~ (3 shows a day running for 8 minutes)
Where: Takahama Quay (in front of Mosaic)
The annual water, light and music show Splash Fantasia Mirage will happen again over the Obon period. The 10 meter high water fountain will be projected with video and music. This years theme is a Horror Party.
Kobe Umi no Bon Odori Dance Festival 2019
When: Saturday 17th August 2019
Time: Food Stalls from 11am. Bon Odori Dance from 6pm – 8:45pm
Where: Meriken Park
The largest Bon Odori dance festival in Kansai happens in picturesque Meriken Park. The summer Bon dance festival is a must see. Plenty of yatai (food stalls) will serve all your favourite Japanese festival foods, drinks and kakigori (shaved ice).
