Planning to head to Universal Studios Japan (USJ) from Kobe, Sannomiya? Here are the best ways to get there so you can enjoy the world’s largest Minion area, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and all your other favorite USJ attractions!
As you would expect in Japan, you can hop on a train bound for Osaka. Whether you take the JR, Hanshin or Hankyu line you will have to change trains and make your way to Nishi-Kujo Station and transfer again to Universal City Station.
Catching the JR is the quickest at around 45 minutes and costs ¥640 one-way. Hanshin and Hankyu lines take 1 hour and cost ¥460 and ¥500 respectively.
If you don’t want to worry about transfers the bus is another excellent option. The Kobe-Sannomiya Shinki Bus Terminal is located under the train tracks just to the east of JR Sannomiya Station. The trip takes 35 minutes with buses mainly running in the morning and the cost ¥700 one-way. Check out the full timetable here (Japanese).
Finally, West JR Bus has also started a service from the Sannomiya Bus Terminal under MINT Kobe building. They have a special campaign until the end of the month (June 2018) with bus fares at ¥500 (usually ¥700). However there are only 3 buses departing in the morning and 3 returning in the evening, so it’s best to book your seat in advance . Reserve your bus seats here.
