Profile
Located in the historic brewing area of Shiso, the shop and dining space at Oimatsu Shuzo Sake Brewery Shop offers a simple way to experience local sake culture. The brewery itself dates back to the Edo period and is deeply connected to the region, using local rice and natural underground water in its traditional brewing process. The shop is part of a renovated old building, keeping a traditional atmosphere that reflects the history of the area.
At the shop, visitors can browse and buy a full range of Oimatsu sake, often available in smaller bottles that make it easy to try different types. There is also the Oimatsu Dining space on site, where you can enjoy lunch made with fermented ingredients linked to sake production, such as koji and sake lees. It’s a relaxed stop where you can taste, shop, and get a better sense of how sake is part of everyday life in Shiso.
